Who inspires you?
So I was wondering what photographers really inspire you?
who got you into photography?
why do you like them? Should we interview them?
Tell me in this post on our messageboard the club house!
thanks
A few years back I was lucky enough to meet Paul Octavious through threadless.com, back then he’d just taken a job as the head photographer for the site although when we met in person at the 2007 meet up this hadnt been announced.
Paul is super talented and an awesome guy who’s had his work featured by the new yorker and has worked for Nike, McDonalds, NY Times Magazine, The Wallstreet Journal.
If you have time go check out his work at Pauls flickr and and follow him on tumblr

hey guys hows it going?
So over the past couple of months we’ve been getting the cameras back to the H.Q we’ve been printing them and uploading them for everyone to see and its been awesome but…
I’ve kind of been wondering what the story is behind with your photos, where you took them, what motivated you to take them and what it means to you.
So without futher a do heres Cameron Crowhurst with his series of photos:
Me and my brother experimenting with a famous internet recipe in which you take the ingredients for cake mixture, put it in a cup, stir it, put the cup in the microwave, and put the microwave on for 30 seconds. Judge for yourself from the photo whether it worked or not. It was edible and didn’t give me chronic food poisoning at all, so I call that success!
Just a random photo of my mantle-piece over Christmas. On my mantle piece are two cans of Monster Energy. One is a regular can. One is what they call the BFC (work out what that stands for yourself), and it was a prize my older brother won at Mountainboard competition. The warning on the side said don’t drink it all in one go. I did. Then I put a mini Christmas tree on top of it and put it next to a regular sized can. Also, there is a story to the random stuff on the wall. Whenever people come over to mine, I make them rummage through their belongings for something to stick on the wall. At the point this photo was taken, the tradition was barely a week old. You can only imagine what it looks like now.
I befriended a skeleton and decided to give him some of my spare clothes. I needed my shoes so I let him wear my skates. He wasn’t very good company, he just laid there doing nothing, so after the photo was taken I took my clothes back and kicked him out.
This is what happens when you have a very small bath, a jet stream blower thing, and bubble bath liquid. Yes I did lay in it. No it didn’t eat me.

Thanks Cameron!
If your interested in taking part in the travelling camera club drop us an email at
travellingcameraclub@googlemaill.com
In the subject, write travelling camera club sign up name your name, tell us your address, if you’d be awesome and be willing to buy a camera or if you’d be down for shipping internationally.
Please note we get a lot of americans signing up, whilst thats awesome, it does mean if you live outside of the states its harder for us to make up routes that travel within your country.
North Americans, if you are signing up it would be a major help if you can post the camera internationally, I’m the last person on a route (even if I’m not taking photos I hold all the negatives and scan the photos) and unfortunately right now I’m UK based so I always need someone from North America to post it to me.
Thanks
Phil
